Runners Roost Fort Collins ("RRFC") has been locally owned and operated since April 2000. We opened RRFC on Drake road with the mission of not only being the #1 running/walking/triathlon specialty store in Northern Colorado, but also providing the benchmark customer service.

Giving back to the running community and being a good business citizen is not only the right thing to do but we know our customer's reward us for it. RRFC donates various resources to events each year, such as timing equipment, scaffolding, cones, water jugs, gift certificates, etc... We are proud to help each year with the Healthy Kids Series, which promotes a healthy lifestyle for children ages 6-12. In 2004, the RRFC donated 125 pairs of kid's running shoes for free to those who completed the entire series. In 2005, over 100 Asics kids' jackets were given out.

RRFC started out as a very small business. Eight years of loyal customer support has allowed us to grow. Combined with an excellent relationship with numerous podiatrists, orthopedic doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists in Northern Colorado, we are moving to a larger location in October 2008 to better accommodate the demands and needs of our customers.

We would like to thank all of our loyal customers and look forward to seeing everyone at our new location, the Front Range Village Shopping Center (Harmony and Ziegler).

Runners Roost Fort Collins Staff

Steve Cathcart: Co-Owner of Runners Roost Fort Collins. Steve has been actively involved in the Fort Collins running community for well over a decade and has been involved with the sport all his life.  He offers a wealth of product and industry knowledge to our customers.  His mission statement is to give back to the one thing that has brought so much happiness to his life, running! Continually sponsoring events, such as the Healthy Kids Series, donating money and resources to Lory State Park, Hope Lives, Boyd Lake State Park for a fishing dock for those with disabilities is only to name a few. He finds more joy in helping others either continue or start a healthier way of living. Not only does he own the store, he enjoys working the floor. Steve and his wife Gidget have 3 children, Briana, Christopher and Jon Mark.

Brian Cathcart: Brian is Co-Owner of the Roost with his brother Steve. He brings his vast accounting and financial skills to the Roost and is a critical component as a 'back of the house' contributor. Although Brian does do a little running, when he has a relay to train for, his favorite exercising activities include basketball, skiing and mountain bike riding. Brian and his wife Emily have two daughters, Elise and Alexis.

Kiel Lowen: The Roost is fortunate to hire Kiel while he is going to school here at CSU. He had worked for a couple of years at the Runners Roost in Colorado Springs, under Gary and Linda Staines and brings much needed industry knowledge. Kiel is very thorough in determining one's proper gait analysis. Kiel will be graduating from CSU in fall 2008.

Kirsten Anthony: She, along with Kiel, worked at the Runners Roost in Colorado Springs until she became a student at CSU. She is very compassionate and exudes great patience working with customers. Kirsten is very busy juggling work, school, and being one of the top runners on the CSU Women's Cross-Country and Track Teams. She helped the Rams win their first Conference and Regional title in Cross Country in fall 2007. She was also the team's top finisher at the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships. She has a PR on the track in the 5000m of 16:41!

Katie Follett: Katie is a former Fort Collins High School Lambkin and graduated in 2006. During her summer and winter breaks, she comes back and works with the staff. Her smile and enthusiasm spice up the mood around the Roost. She just finished her sophomore year at the University of Washington. Katie finished 19th at the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships, earning her All-American honors. She recently competed in the US Olympic Track and Field Trials in the 1500m. Her PR's are 4:15 (1500m), 4:37 (mile), and 16:01 (5000m).

Erin Priest: Erin is has been with the Roost since the spring of 2002. She has worked since her high school days and is an invaluable part of the staff that would be extremely difficult to replace. Erin has travelled all over the world and we are very fortunate to have her help out whenever she returns. Whether it is helping out at various events or covering hours on the store floor, she is one we can always count on.

Steve Folkerts: Steve joined the staff in the fall of 2007 and brings his vast running background to our team. He worked for a running store in Phoenix before moving to Fort Collins so he started with us with a plethora of industry knowledge and experience.  One can find Steve at the front of many races along the Front Range and is currently leading the Colorado Racing series. He is also a personal trainer in town and knows how important proper footwear attributes to staying healthy. Feel free to come in and pick his brain about training, whether you are a seasoned runner, or just beginning.

Jen Lee: Jen is back working part-time with the Roost. She first started in the spring of 2003, and we are very happy she brings back her expertise. Along with coaching the Team in Training chapter in Fort Collins, Jen loves to play ultimate Frisbee, swimming, biking, running, and coaching. She listens with empathy and understands the reality of balance between work and life goals. Whether it is running a 5K PR, training for your first half-marathon, or getting out the door to enjoy living a healthier lifestyle, come talk with Jen!

Nicole Feest:  Nicole is back at the Roost after a year training in Oregon.  She holds the school records at Colorado State University in the 5000m and 10,000m (indoors and outdoors).  She is passionate about running and is our resident expert on dietary needs.  She is volunteer coaching at CSU and is coached by Bryan Berryhill.

Laurie Rogers:  Laurie has been running for over 30 years and is currently completing a marathon in all 50 states.  Her tally to date is 12.  She is a mother of two high school runners and is the assistant cross country coach at Pouder high school.  She loves to talk to people about running!  Come on in and meet her!

We hope this will give everyone a little background to the Runners Roost Fort Collins staff that is committed to providing the highest in industry knowledge and best customer service in the business. We look forward to your next visit!
